Vegetable Market at the Ocean in Olhao, Algarve, Portugal

Prices are in euro.

I love those diiferent varieties of hot pepper and plants that flower in the winter time.

Fresh seedlings for the next coming crop.

The vegetable market in Olhao has something special to offer. Beside delicious fruits, vegetables and other stuff, it offers direct view to the ocean. The salty breeze and unique scent of ocean are embracing the produce of the rough life on this very fertile red soil.
Visiting local vegetable market is always great fun. In Olhao recently I have discovered absolutely delicious small bananas grown in Madeira and the big variety of different melons. But in general its possible to buy everything there.

The vegetable and fish market in Olhao is 'must see' in Algarve. Every Saturday until 1 pm. I hope to see you there one day :) and have a drink!

I miss Olhao. Many a happy childhood vacation memory tied to that market. Did you also make it to nearby Tavira?
